A Christmas Carol
Following the original setting of the play, the characters’ costumes are inspired by the silhouettes of the 1840s. As the play originally served to critique the poverty-stricken conditions of Victorian London, the costumes are colorful yet muted, reflecting the cheer of Christmas along with the drearier realities of the characters. The three ghosts, as supernatural entities, are exempt from this. Instead, they are inspired by the stars associated with the holiday season: The Star of Bethlehem (Christmas Star), the Northern Lights and the dark Winter Night Sky.
