Hi! I’m Dinorah. I am a costume designer based in Chicago, IL. I hold an MFA in Costume Design from Temple University and a BFA in Theatre from DePauw University. 

Never a theatre kid, I first discovered costumes through animated shows like Teen Titans (2003). Initially drawn in by the incredible storylines, I found my imagination captured by the bright colors and fascinating silhouettes on my screen. This led to a passion that followed me into college where I stumbled into the costume shop and never left. Since then, I have done a bit of everything including designing, constructing and wardrobing.

As a designer, I love researching and playing with costume concepts. My inspiration draws heavily from eclectic sources such as animation, comics and history. I enjoy finding ways to produce designs that pay homage to original source material while breathing new life into it. Largely trained in theatre, I am interested in exploring costuming in other mediums as well, including film/ television, animation and illustrations.  

Above all else, I love telling a good story.
